Graduate Degree Programs and RequirementsThere are four graduate degree programs in the Chemical Engineering Department. These are:
Except for students who have Master's degrees from other American institutions, students will normally start on one of the Master's programs, although the M.S. degree can be bypassed by those who show satisfactory academic progress and who pass the Ph.D. qualifying exam. The written qualifying exam is normally given at the end of the Spring semester. It is the policy of the department that the terminal degree be a thesis degree for those students with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. Financial support through departmental, contract, or grant sources (i.e., the University of Florida OPS category) will not be available to students enrolled in the Master of Engineering program. General requirements for the various degree program as well as descriptions of courses can be found in the University of Florida graduate catalog. A student is normally regulated by the rules set forth in the catalog published in the academic year of the students first term. The revised Graduate Program Requirements document for the Department of Chemical Engineering is now available. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
